ISBN: 1845111648Dieses 208 Seiten starke Buch erscheint bei I.B. Tauris im März 2006 und wurde von Gregory L. Reece geschrieben.

Der Verlag kündigt das Buch wie folgt an:
"The first portrait of Elvis as religious icon From Graceland to Las Vegas, from fans to impersonators, from novels, films and popular music to internet websites, outsider art and tabloid conspiracy theories, the cult of Elvis Presley has, since his death, become ever more imaginative. Elvis Religion explores the frequently bizarre and weird - yet sometimes moving - phenomena growing out of this world and investigates what it is that has turned the King of Rock 'n' Roll into a god-like figure. Elvis, we discover, is found everywhere.

He is not just an icon for late night lonely hearts in Memphis, or Elvis impersonators on a Vegas stage, but is the inspiration behind the violent visions of movies like Mystery Train and Wild at Heart, the kitsch sanctuary of Graceland Too, the music of Kirsty MacColl and Paul Simon, and the internet church for whom he is a supernatural being who dwells in the constellation of Orion. Gregory L Reece makes a journey to discover the Jumpsuit Jesus for himself, which takes him into the heart of fan obsession. Along the way, he discovers that if Elvis Saves it is because now, more than ever, the Memphis Messiah seems like a prophet for our times."

The HeadHunter Book"The HeadHunter Book" so das neue Buch von David Stanley, welches im August 2005 erschien und in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Autor D. Edward Stanley entstand.

Und hier die Ankündigung vom Verlag:
"It was the summer of 1972 in Memphis, the last day of school for most high school ninth graders. But for 16 year-old David Stanley, school was out…forever. The very next day, David was on a private jet heading for New York City, shooting like a rocket into the stratosphere of rock-and-roll superstardom. David would spend the next five years battling the perils of life on the road along with his own personal demons, earning a spot inside a circle few would ever see and carving himself a place in history as the youngest bodyguard in the music business - the one Elvis Presley would nickname, 'The HeadHunter'.

Brash and unapologetic, 'The HeadHunter' is David Stanley's life story. His true account of growing up as Elvis' step-brother, following his ascent into manhood and the struggles of life on the road as the King's gun-toting bodyguard during the last tumultuous years of his life. It follows Stanley on a roller coaster ride of experiences that culminate in a pivotal moment for both men on August 16, 1977 when Stanley realizes that all his consummate bodyguard skills, devotion and love are not enough to save Elvis from the one person that proves fatal - himself."

Und hier die Ankündigung des Verlages:
"On a bet, Elvis Presley and a "cousin" of his spend a week on the run. They are trying to evade capture by America's law enforcement agencies. How can the most famous entertainer in the world elude the police?

In a fun tale of adventure, the King of Rock and Roll escapes from Graceland, the Memphis Mafia and the detectives of the Memphis police department. He travels across America to a specific time and place in México.

During the course of this lost week in the life of Elvis, he learns much about himself as a man. In October 1970, Elvis explores the ruins of a pyramid complex in México — and himself.

Elvis' "cousin" doesn't expect to actually like Elvis Presley as a person. However, as he gets to know him, the individual, he finds that he grows quite fond of Elvis. Travel with Elvis as he attempts to avoid capture and learn what the man himself was really like."
