"Am Vorabend der Oscarverleihung am Sonntag (12.03.2023) gibt Film-Maximalist Baz Luhrmann den Elvis-Fans mehr, mehr, mehr. Der Regisseur, dessen schwindelerregendes Biopic über den King für 8 Oscars nominiert ist, kündigte am Dienstag (07.03.2023) eine Deluxe-Edition des offiziellen Soundtracks des Films an, die bisher unveröffentlichte Aufnahmen des Stars Austin Butler, einige zeitgenössische Versionen von Elvis-Klassikern und das neue Mash-Up "Backstreet Boss Nova (Daisy O'Dell Remix)" enthält, das Presley und die kultige Boyband aus den 90ern miteinander vermischt.
"Das gesamte Elvis-Musikteam ist dem Ruf der Fans mit dieser neuen Deluxe Edition des Elvis-Soundtracks gefolgt", so Luhrmann in einem Statement. "Das Deluxe-Album enthält alles, von bisher unveröffentlichten Aufnahmen von Austin Butler bis hin zu zeitgenössischen Interpretationen von Elvis-Klassikern und einem frischen Mash-up mit den Backstreet Boys, und enthüllt alle komplexen Schichten von Austins Performance, Elvis' Musik und denen, die sein Erbe fortführen."
Die Deluxe Edition enthält 52 Tracks, darunter "Toxic Las Vegas" (Presley x Britney Spears) und "Fly Away Weave" mit Elliott Wheeler, dem Komponisten des Films, sowie Gary Clark Jr., Shannon Sanders, Nashville Urban Choir, Butler, Shonka Dukureh und Lanesha Randolph.
