Elvis Has Left The Building

The new Rock Legend release 'Elvis Has Left The Building' contains an unlisted bonustrack at the very end of the disc. It's programmed as part of the same track as the (also very interesting) August '73 backstage bit, with a 15 seconds pause in between. Suddenly I heard 'Little Darling' coming out of the speaker!
The guy that edited the CD says that it comes from the Murfreesboro concert that was released on the FTD release 'Dixieland Rocks' (May 6, 1975). As you know, the final part of this show (after 'Fairytale') is not on this CD, and replaced by the final part of the May 7th Murfreesboro show, starting with 'Little Darling'.
Now you can hear why FTD could not include 'Little Darling' from the May 6th show, as the tape just stops near the end of the spoken part. It's a good version by the way, with Elvis sounding quite energetic, and even saying 'Hot Damnit' at one point! I didn't expect to find unreleased soundboard stuff on this type of release, but it's really there. An intriguing bonustrack to say the least, and the quality of this soundboard bit is pretty good too.
Andylon.

Yes, the story of the unreleased "Little Darlin'" track of Murfreesboro is true. The tape has been stopped before the song was done completely. Elvis is just starting the spoken part of the song and says "my darling I need you ... hot damn" and one can hear him laugh and the recording fades out. The track runs for 1:04 minutes. I received it from a friend on cdr about a year ago.

What's so thrilling about the SB recording of a poor song (Elvis didn't like, reportedly),
even if it is performed well and in good sound quality?
I can't follow you hardcore fans here.
It simply goes beyond my horizon as a lover of Elvis songs,
but I appreciate your diligence to keep track with everything Elvis has done.

"ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING" ...
...............A remarkable new release from Rock Legend
Out now is the new Rock Legends CD "Elvis Has Left The Building". As the
title indicates, this beautifully packaged two-paneled deluxe digipack
contains original radio- and television broadcasts from August 16th and
17th, 1977, reporting the death of Elvis Presley. On this 78+ minute
release, you can follow the news as it happened: first the unconfirmed
rumours, then the confirmation from the hospital and Elvis' friends, the
speculations about the cause of death, tributes from around the world,
reactions from grieving fans, and a real "heartbreaker": the first interview
with Elvis' father Vernon Presley at ca. 16.30pm on August 16th, only a few
hours after Elvis' body had been found. On this release you can listen to
this unique interview in unedited form for the very first time. Another
highlight is a long excerpt from the "Elvis What Happened" press-conference
(much more than what is usually used in the various documentaries), where
Sonny West discusses the controversial book.
We have also included a very special "bonustrack": an unreleased recording
of Elvis backstage with several Japanese fans, recorded just minutes before
the Midnight Show on August 9th, 1973. As private backstage recordings with
Elvis are extremely rare, this is an amazing scoop. It's an interesting
insight into the man to hear how he interacted with his fans: he's very
courteous and repeatedly thanks them for the gifts that they had brought
along to Las Vegas for him. You even get an insight into the Colonel, as you
can hear him shouting in the background repeatedly! A fascinating piece of
"Presleyana". All recordings were digitally remastered with great care by
Otto Meszaros, whose work on the Czech releases has been praised by many
fans.
"Elvis Has Left The Building" is packaged very tastefully, with rare pics of
Elvis, newspaper clippings from around the world reporting his death, photos
from the funeral, and even the original White House statement about Elvis'
death. This breathtaking deluxe digipack has to be seen to be believed, as
it's a good example of superior Scandinavian artwork (designer: Kenneth
Dokkeberg).
The theme behind this release is of course a sad one, but on the other hand
it also shows how much Elvis was loved and respected all over the globe - a
remarkable tribute to the greatest entertainer of the twentieth century.
"Elvis Has Left The Building" is an essential and historic release that is a
must for the collection of every Elvis fan.
