9 remarkable shows from the August 1970 Summer Festival.These fantastic "Powerhouse Performances" are recorded on stage in August 1970 at the Showroom of the International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.The first shows from this August engagement were shot by MGM for the legendary “That’s The Way It Is” motion picture, and recorded by the record company for the release of the soundtrack. The recordings featured here were recorded right after the MGM & RCA crew had left. Elvis is in a good mood and seems to be very relaxed. This is Elvis at his best. Raw, rebellious and at the peak of his powers. All shows are remastered and speed corrected where necessary. These are without doubt the best sources for these recordings. All shows are presented in deluxe digipacks and are available in a very limited edition.

Weil gerade woanders vom Komplett-Set geschrieben wurde - es ist eine Serie. Man kann sie alle einzeln erwerben - Preis je 20,-, aber das leitet sich ja aus dem Flyer ab ("Collect these ...").

Es ist schon erstaunlich was sich Leute einfallen lassen um schnelles Geld zu machen. Mann..diese Rick Rennie tapes u.a. gibt es schon seit Jahren auf zig Veröffentlichungen.
Der Klang ist natürlich toll..sind keine soundbooth recordings im herkömmlichen Sinn mit 2 Mikrofonen...vielmehr hat Rick ein Mikrofon mit 2 Tonköpfen benutzt.  Das ist der Unterschied. 

Die Shows vom 23.und 24.8.stammen von Claude Lagarde und wurden in den 70ern zuerst auf der legendären "The Hillbilly Cat Live"..veröffentlicht ..eine Doppel LP für seinen Spring Fever Fanclub 

Warum gibt's diese Aufnahmen nicht von FTD? 

… Weil hoffentlich noch etliche besser klingende Soundboards in den Archiven schlummern? Wenn es regelmäßig zu Audience Recordings kommt, bin ich und sicher auch etliche andere Käufer wahrscheinlich raus. Das würde ich tatsächlich als den Bodensatz empfinden.

Habe die Aufnahmen von diesem Rick auch. Sind wirklich nicht schlecht für Audience Recordings, aber wie schon Fronk schrieb sicherlich nichts für eine FTD-Veröffentlichung !
Vielleicht kennt Honeybee die Aufnahmen nicht !?
