“Iconic Albums” series of books about Elvis’ albums: Author Richard Ward has published a range of books (90-130 pages) examining popular album releases. His series includes (to date) six volumes about Elvis albums.
I have only perused “Elvis Presley” (105 pages) and found it to be a compact, well-designed release with interesting (thought-provoking) and well constructed, albeit often brief, content. There are no photos. Each song on the album has its own chapter amounting to several pages.
In the Chapter, “Money Honey – The R&B Showstopper”:
“The song’s lyrics are playful and instantly relatable: a man’s lover comes knocking, demanding the rent money, but he’s broke – and in a jam. It’s a lighthearted tale told with bluesy charm, combining a catchy chorus with verses full of personality.”
About the success of the album:
“Part of the album’s global success lay in the fact that rock ‘n’ roll – as distilled by Elvis – was less about lyrics and more about energy, rhythm, and attitude. You didn’t need to speak English fluently to feel the urgency of Blue Suede Shoes or the longing in I Love You Because.
“It was also a visual phenomenon. Photographs of Elvis in motion – hair flying, guitar slung low, eyes locked on the crowd – spoke a universal language.”
Given the author, in a relatively short period of time, has apparently released a large number of books – according to Amazon there are 143 titles in the “Iconic Albums” series - suggests there may at least be some presence of AI in each book. AI text has made significant positive strides in its quality since the original iteration of Chat GP in late November 2022, making it harder today to identify if its source is human or not.
Each slimline book is available as a softcover or digital (Kindle) edition. They are reasonably priced (softcover under US$20.00; Kindle under US$10.00) and the book cover designs are clever...."
