Keinerlei Widerspruch. Es gibt öfter Bücher, da sage ich mir auch , hm, sieht nicht schlecht aus. Auch, wenn ich sie dann dennoch nicht kaufe. Hier so gar nicht.

Meine Büchersammlung ist in Sachen Elvis-Bilderbücher auch eher bescheiden. Ich bin mir auch immer noch nicht sicher ob ich dieses Buch kaufen werde, aber anmachen tut es mich schon.

FTD - What now, What next, Where to – What’s left?: During Elvis’ lifetime, RCA released a total of between 60 – 70 albums, consisting of dedicated recordings, movie soundtracks and live performances.
The FTD label has been doing an excellent job at looking at the recording anthology of Elvis Presley and releasing every significant LP or recording session on a 1CD or 2CD ‘Classic Album’ version.
However as noted with the recent "ELVIS" second LP release there are less and less outtakes and studio sessions left in the vaults.
FTD’s first release was ‘Burbank ’68’ fifteen years ago, so with all the past releases and packaging what is left for the collector?

Over the next couple of weeks, EIN will cover the remaining movie soundtracks and the possible inclusions that could produce a suitable release for the avid collector for these recordings.

Three New FTD Releases: FTD have announced three releases for late June.
- 'Roustabout' (1-CD)
53 years after its original release FTD is pleased to announce the long awaited "Classic Album" version of "Roustabout". Reaching #1 on Billboard in February 1965, it would Elvis’ last chart topping album until "Aloha From Elvis Via Satellite" in 1973. Packaged in 7" format with a full color 16-page memorabilia booklet, it contains previously unreleased material.

We’ve had original soundtrack recordings by Elvis in the past and we needn’t dwell on their great success, but the new "ROUSTABOUT" album is undoubtedly on of the finest we’ve had! "It’s A Wonderful World" and "Big Love Big Heartache" are delivered smoothly to a smooth Latin-flavored accompaniment. Most of the tunes however, are the hard-rocker variety, especially "Hard Knocks and "There’s A Brand New Day On The Horizon." For a special gas, check out the lyrics on "Little Egypt" and "Poison Ivy League." We’ve got great music, a great cover, the movie tie-in, advertising and promotion support.

"Start Spreading The News" Elvis At Madison Square Garden (Book And CD)
The Ultimate book about Elvis’ appearances in the Big Apple, June 1972. The book comes with a bonus CD - audience recording - containing the opening night, June 9th, 1972 show.
Pål Granlund was in New York in 1972 for the MSG concerts and there are photographs of him meeting Elvis backstage, so the book will no doubt feature his personal stories and much, much more.

Ich selbst habe das Buch noch nicht erhalten, die ersten Reaktionen sind allerdings wenig euphorisch. Das Buch enthält wohl sehr wenige Infos, dafür sehr viele Bilder der PK - was ich persönlich nicht so toll finde, da diese angesichts des Umstandes daß wir die auf Film haben wenig erhellend sein dürften - und bisher gab es im Netz auch noch keine Jubelstürme über dieses oder jenes ach so sensationelle neue Bild.

Meine Vorfreude ist jedenfalls erst einmal deutlich gebremst, schade. Das TCB-Buch, mein bislang letztes FTD-Buch, hat mir nämlich ziemlich gut gefallen. Wenn ich das MSG-Buch erhalten habe werde ich meine persönlichen Eindrücke hier mitteilen, Unentschlossenen ist beim Kauf aber wohl zur Zurückhaltung zu raten.

Erst mal, ja. Es gibt noch andere Dinge, die ich kaufen will, da muss so ein "Spaßkauf" hinten anstehen. Und sollte die LP dann nicht mehr käuflich zu erwerben sein, dann sollte es halt nicht sein. Ich werde es überleben.
