Teil 1 - Studio und Multitrack Live CDs
Production errors:
Too Much Monkey Business (2000) - mastering error on Loving Arms (doubled intro).
Drop-outs are found on these positions (all in the right channel): Track 6 - 0:20 ("...harm she's done") / Track 6 - 1:05 - 1:07 / Track 7 - 0:07 (digital clip) revealing serious mastering error / Track 9 - 1:24 ("closing time most..") / Track 9 - 1:40 - 1:42 / Track 19 - Several places... .
Easter Special (2001) - mastering errors resulting in digital clicking and noise throughout.
So High (2003) - production fault on So High (Take 1). FTD replaced the disc.
Elvis Today (2005) - mastering error resulting in significant volume mismatch between master takes and outtakes.
Elvis (Fool) (2010) - production error on disc 2 resulting in repeated take of Fool. FTD replaced the disc.
Stage Rehearsal (2011) - mastering glitch on Patch It Up guitar solo.
Our Memories Of Elvis (2012) - mastering error on Are You Sincere & Spanish Eyes.
Hits Of The 70s (2012) - incorrect version of My Way in place of the correct 1977 single.
One Night In Vegas - Audio drop-outs during You've Lost That Lovin Feeling (at around 40 secs in and 4.04). Also the band introductions are left out.
6363 Sunset - Digital clicks on several tracks: For The Good Times (in right channel), Until It's Time To Go and Shake A Hand.
Girl Happy - The original 'Girl Happy' had the wrong take (take 4 instead of master) of 'You'll Be Gone' plus an all new tinny reverb on the masters.
A Date With Elvis - Last few tracks of disc 2 (The Home Recordings) suffer from digital errors. Several other members have also reported hearing an audio glitch on the last track - It's Been So Long Darling - which some have suggested is a poor digital transfer.
Stage Rehearsal - Track 18 ('I'm Leaving It All Up To You") has a horrendous mastering fault at the end of the song, where part of another, unidentified song is playing over the top of the recording!!!! (From 42 seconds onwards). The whole cd was a dogs breakfast with intros and endings tacked on from other performances.
Hot August Night - Tracklisting numbering incorrect on the sleeve (and printed on the CD). Both 'Love Me Tender' and 'Jailhouse Rock/Don't Be Cruel' are listed as track 5, so the order compared to the actual CD is incorrect from then on.
The Best Of British - The RCA Years 1957-1958 - These tracks run too fast, probably because the European DVDs were used as a source ("PAL-Speed-Up"): 04 – Road Medley (Party / Teddy Bear / Got A Lot O' Livin' To Do / Hot Dog), 06 – Party (alternate movie lyrics), 10 – Treat Me Nice (Laurel 101 - Take One), 14 – Turtles, Berries And Gumbo / Crawfish (unedited movie opening medley), 15 – Steadfast Loyal And True - (movie dialogue version), 17 – New Orleans (live nightclub version)
Elvis Is Back Sessions - CD 2 Soldier boy 4.23 crack, CD has been replaced.
The Making Of Jailhouse Rock - The complete sessions are presented in mono for the first time, mixed to mono from the original binaural tapes. There are however, speed issues with the original binaural tapes, that have not been fixed for this release, but were fixed when issued previously, in binaural, on FTD's original two Jailhouse Rock CD sets. This means that some of the session is running as much as 2.4% faster than it should on The Making Of Jailhouse Rock. There is also an audible hum or buzz heard throughout the May 3 recordings on The Making Of Jailhouse Rock, not heard (as much) on previous releases.
It Happend At The World's Fair (Vinyl) - First pressing has a pressing mistake (disturbing noise) on the master of "They Remind Me Too Much Of You".
Elvis Now In person 1972 - Page 111 of the first book "From Las Vegas To Buffalo" is completely out of sequence, it belongs to the end of the chapter. The backside of the book refers two times to a track 25 (audience recording) of CD 1 that doesn't appear on the CD or the tracklisting.
Take errors:
Long Lonely Highway:
Surely it's important to collectors to know that what we are listening to is Take 1 of She's Not You, and not Take 2
Memphis Sessions:
We are listening to Takes 3 & 14 of Wearin That Loved On Look, and not Takes 3 & 10. From a Jack to a King isn't Takes 1, 2, 3, but 2, 1, 3.
Silver Screen Stereo:
We are listening to Take 3b, and not 11 of Clambake. Track 13 I Got Lucky is not the alternate master (M5 Take 6), but M5 Take 1.
Burbank 68:
Wrong date listed for the rehearsal of Baby What You want Me To Do.
Trouble/Guitar Man is listed as being from the 6pm stand-up show, but is actually recorded at Western Recorders on June 22nd.
If I Can Dream is a vocal overdub, and not Take 4 (the master).
Easter Special:
It Is No Secret is not Take 12 as listed, but Take 5
Stand by Me is not Take 2 as listed, but Takes 5 & 6
So High is not Take 2 as listed, but the false start of Take 2 along with Take 3
An Evening Prayer is not Take 2 as listed, but Take 3
Seeing is Believing is listed as Take 4, but is actually dialogue from Take 1, the fs from Take 2, and then Take 4
Jungle Room Sessions:
Bitter They Are - not Takes 2-5, but Takes 3-5
I'll Never Fall In Love Again - not Take 5, but Takes 4 & 5
Moody Blue - not Take 3, but Take 7, parts of 8&4, and then Take 5
Love Coming Down - not Take 2, but Take 3
Made in Memphis:
Thinking about You - not Take 3, but Takes 2&3.
You Asked Me To - not Take 1, but Takes 1&2a.
Solitaire - talk listed as Takes 6&7, but from 4&5.
For the Heart - listed as Take 5, but is actually 5a.
I Sing All Kinds:
Until It's Time For You To Go - not the first version as listed, but the remake. It´s Still Here - is not take 1, but a splice of Take 1 & rehearsal of Take 2.
His Songs Of Praise Vol.1:
"Amazing Grace" (1) is listed as Take 2 undubbed, but it is Take 2 without chorus track.
"An American Trilogy" (4) is wrongly listed as Aloha version, but it is the single version from Las Vegas, February 16, 1972, MS.
"Bridge Over Troubled Water" (6) is wrongly listed as unedited undubbed master, but it is Take 5 from Essential Elvis - Vol. 4 - A Hundred Years From Now.
His Songs Of Praise Vol.2:
Whole CD was mastered too loud and suffered from clipping somewhat'...(source When In Rome) In addition, the following mistakes on the track listings were noted by the elvisoncd site:
Track 09 - Padre is listed in the secton "undubbed songs", but it is the master (mono) with all overdubs.
Track 10 - You'll Never Walk Alone is listed as extended master, but it is Take 2.
Track 16 - Listed as March 31, 1972 recording, but it is spliced from March 29, 1977, Alexandria (Bosom Of Abraham) and March 31, 1972, rehearsal (You Better Run) recordings.
Track 01 - I, John was recorded on June 9, 1971 and not on June 10, 1976, as listed.
Track 04 - Reach Out To Jesus was recorded on June 8, 1971 and not on June 9, 1971, as listed.
Track 31 - The First Noel was recorded on May 16, 1971 and not on May 21, 1971, as listed.
Track 32 - O Come, All Ye Faithful was recorded on May 16, 1971 and not on May 21, 1971, as listed.
Tracks 04 and 08 are listed as undubbed alternate takes. This term is needless, because only master takes are overdubbed.
This is Elvis:
On cover and booklet is listed "Don't Be Cruel (September 9, 1956. "The Ed Sullivan Show")", but the correct date is January 6, 1957!
"Suspicious Minds" is listed as "That's The Way It Is" version (August 12, 1970 midnight show ), but it is the version from January 14, 1973 "Aloha From Hawaii".
"Hound Dog" is listed as version from July 1, 1956 "The Steve Allen Show", but it is the Milton Berle Show version from CD 1 without overdubs. Because of this the song "Hound Dog" from the Steve Allan Show is missing here, although this version was in in the movie.
Trouble / Guitar Man Medley isn't the edited shortened version (02:19) as stated on the cover. It is the original version with a running time of 03:27.
Elvis for Everyone:
Take 9 of I Slipped, I Stumbled, I Feel is actually Take 10.
Elvis Sings The Wonderful World Of Christmas:
Merry Christmas Baby (Take 1 unedited) is not the complete undubbed take. Silver Bells doesn't include Take 2, just Take 1
G.I. Blues:
Track 14 Frankfort Special (version1) is the master Take 13, not Take 12 as stated on the cover.
Tickle me:
Track 9 I'm Yours is not the undubbed single master, but only Take 6 (without the splice with work part - Take 2).
Artwork cock-ups:
White borders -- Regardless if you like the white borders or not, these albums were not originally issued with white bordered front covers,
but behold they suddenly appeared on these highlighted FTD re-issues of classic albums...
1. Elvis as Recorded Live on Stage in Memphis (2004) WHITE BORDER
2. Elvis Is Back! (2005) WHITE BORDER
3. Tickle Me - EP (2005) WHITE BORDER
4. Today (2005) WHITE BORDER
5. Loving You (2006) WHITE BORDER
6. Something For Everybody (2006) WHITE BORDER
7. Elvis Presley (2006) WHITE BORDER
8. Clambake (2006) WHITE BORDER
9. His Hand In Mine (2006) WHITE BORDER
Wild In The Country - The cover of the 'Wild In The Country' FTD stated Presely on the spine (they did replace that one)
Elvis For Everyone! - The song "Forget Me Never" is printed as "Forgive Me Never" on CD 2, "Millionth" is spelled "Millonth" on the CD.
Live A Little, Love A Little - The caption to the picture of Rudy Vallee with Elvis in the booklet calls the film Live A Little, Live A Little
Kid Galahad - "I Got Licky" title on the record label on the inside cover behind the CD.
Best Of British - The RCA Years - On the CD label is an error. There is printed: "The HMV Years..." instead of "The RCA Years...".
Blue Hawaii - The front cover has been changed. "Living Stereo" is not the original font. The blue "Original Soundtrack" logo at the right bottom had originally only been used on the LPM mono LP.
Double Trouble - Front cover has been zoomed, so it is cut on the left and right side.
Girl Happy - Elvis' picture on the front cover is zoomed, therefore much to big and most of his black shirt is missing.
Viva Las Vegas (1st/2nd pressing) - Significant changes on the front cover. Different font for "Viva Las Vegas", different colour for "I need somebody.."/"Today, tomorrow..." (black instead of white). Elvis' picture has been zoomed, most of his body is missing. Looks like a different picture source (colour of hair/background).
Pot Luck - Slightly changed front cover concerning upper left corner (white steam).

Other mistakes (Content / Artwork / Remastering)
A Minnesota moment: Unfortunately, FTD incorrectly dated several of the performances on this CD. FTD should have stated that the recordings of "School Days", "Hurt", "Hawaiian Wedding Song", "Blue Christmas" and "That's All Right" were all from the Anaheim, California concert from November 30, 1976. Instead, FTD incorrectly stated that the recordings of "School Days", "Hurt", "Blue Christmas" and "That's All Right" were all from the Dayton, Ohio concert from October 26, 1976. Instead, FTD incorrectly stated that the recording of "Hawaiian Wedding Song" came from the Sioux Falls, South Dakota concert from October 18, 1976. With all of those mistakes, it's surprising that FTD actually posted the correct dates of the recordings of "Fairytale" and "America the Beautiful" on that CD release. Those two recordings were correctly dated by FTD as being from the Sioux Falls, South Dakota concert from October 18, 1976.
I'll remember you bonus songs: The recording of "Sweet Caroline" is from the February 2, 1973 Midnight Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The recording of "I'll Remember You" is from the February 3, 1973 Dinner Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Unchained Melody (2007) - mastering error on Where No One Stands Alone.
Southern Nights (2006) - featuring terribly sloppy editing work between songs
Tucson '76 - misspelled 'Tuscon '76' ... replaced quietly on the sly
Dinner at Eight - On the inside of the cover FTD incorrectly spelled "Polk Salad Annie" as "Poke Salad Annie".
Big Boss Man - On the inside of the cover of FTD stated that the featured Las Vegas, Nevada concert was the Dinner Show from March 30, 1975. In reality, the concert featured on the CD was actually the Midnight Show from March 28, 1975.
From Sunset to Las Vegas - On the back cover FTD incorrectly dated these tracks that were included on Disc #2: Trying to Get to You - August 20, 1974 Dinner Show (it should be the Midnight Show from that day), Heartbreak Hotel - August 20, 1974 Dinner Show (it should be the Midnight Show from that day), An American Trilogy - August 22, 1974 Midnight Show (it should be the Midnight Show from August 27th), Elvis talking / We Shall Overcome - August 22, 1974 Midnight Show (it should be the Midnight Show from August 27th), Elvis talking - August 22, 1974 Midnight Show (it should be the Midnight Show from August 27th). For those that don't have "From Sunset to Las Vegas", yes, there are two different tracks on Disc #2 that are titled "Elvis talking". Also, FTD made such an atrocious decision by including just one of the two rehearsals from August 16, 1974 of Elvis performing "It's Midnight". On the back cover, "The Twelfth Of Never" is misspelled "The Twelth [sic] Of Never".
Lake Tahoe '74 (May 26 1974 Dinner Show) - Mastering errors and audio issues in disc 2: Track 04) Trying To Get To You (0:14 mark), Track 06) Love Me Tender (1:29 mark), Track 08) Hound Dog (0:27 mark), Track 10) Polk Salad Annie (0:18 mark, 2:12 mark, 3:17 mark), Track 11) Why Me Lord (1:26 mark), Track 13) Suspicious Minds (0:10 mark), Track 17) Bridge Over Troubled Water (2:56 mark), Track 19) Big Boss Man (1:06 mark)
Hometown Shows - The inside cover states the 2nd concert is an afternoon show which is incorrect as both shows were evening performances, namely the 17th March 1974 and the 10th June 1975.
Las Vegas '74 - Both shows are incorrectly labelled on the back cover. Disc 1 is in fact the Midnight show whilst Disc 2 is the Dinner show, both from the 20th August 1974. In addition, the bonus songs on Disc 2 are incorrectly stated to be from Sept. 2nd in the inside cover, whereas on the back cover they are listed correctly as being from the August 28th Dinner show.
Dixieland Rocks - the bulk of the concert is from May 7th - "Can't Help Falling In Love" and the "Closing Vamp" are from May 6, on the "Fairytale" track the edit is very noticeable and after the edit Elvis says that it was the last show of the tour and was thanking everyone on stage. Just before "Can't Help Falling In Love" he explains they have another show the next night.
Showtime - Please look at the back cover. According to the tracklist on disc 2 there are two tracks 11: My Way & Polk Salad Annie. Not only are there two tracks labelled 11, but track 16 has also been omitted from the track-listing on the back cover.
Destination USA - The first release of CD 1 had an error. The first two tracks were taken by mistake from the release "Sold Out" (A 1974 tour show !). The CD was replaced.
Omaha Nebraska 74 - Skip in track 7 of disc 2 during How Great Thou Art.
St.Louis / Spokane - Some numbering problems on the sleeve. Number 16 is listed three times. There are no numbers 17 to 19. Number 19 is wrongly listed as number 21. Also Burning love is spelled "Buring love". On the CD it says "see inlay for complete tracklisting", but the CD comes without a booklet.
South Bound - Track 1 on CD 1 is "Talk" (same as on CD 2), Track 2 is "Love me" and so on. The tracklist on the backcover starts with Track 1 "Love me" and consequently all tracknumbers for CD 1 are wrongly listed.
From Louisiana and Memphis - Wrong track numbers on back cover. On CD 1 number 20 is left out, on CD 4 Track 15 is listed as 25.
Houston/Fort Worth/Baton Rouge 1974 - "Funny How Time Slips Away" ist spelled "Funny How Times Slips Away" on the backcover for all three CDs.

Keiner bei FTD nimmt sich die Liste - sofern die sie lesen - zu Herzen und ändert etwas !
Warum kein "Bashing", warum keine Botschaft !
