Genug der ausführlichen Werbung (über die sich komischerweise diesmal keiner aufregt) und her mit einer anständigen Review :zuvielarbeit:

Naja, Werbung... Wir haben Praytome Fragen gestellt, und er hat sie beantwortet. Klar, dass er als Hersteller sein Produkt nicht schlechtredet, das kann keiner von ihm verlangen, aber er hat ja auch schonungslos offen gesagt, dass es für manche Fans halt nichts ist. Für mich ist das okay, ich fand es nur schade, dass in einem anderen Thread Leuten Werbung vorgeworfen wurde, die auch nur Informationen gegeben und Fragen beantwortet haben.

Ich sehe das genauso. Ich finde es klasse, wenn sich die Macher (sowohl hier als auch beim Golden Boy Magazin) den Fragen stellen. Neutrale Bewertungen kann man verständlicherweise nicht erwarten, dafür steckt zuviel Herzblut und auch Geld drin. Das ist die Aufgabe der Besprechungen hier, von denen es leider viel zu wenige gibt.

Dem kann ich nur zustimmen

da muss ich doch mal nen applaus loswerden....
die fragen waren ernst gemeint und ich habe versucht vernünftig dazu stellung zu nehmen und es hat spass gemacht darüber zu reden.....der schönste moment ist übrigens wenn man soviel reinsteckt das dann ZUSAMMEN mit anderen fans zu gucken....

da das ganze ein wenig mehr detektiv story ist bitte ich um verständnis as ich nicht jeden satz beantworten kann....

da sich dieses projekt stark von den anderen unterscheidet fänd ich es schade wenn man vorher schon jedes wort vorher lesen kann und ich glaube dann geht der spass verloren und das möchte ich nicht.

Just saw these posts and normally I'd just let everyone hash things out but I'm most definately putting my two cents in on this one...

First off - I know the title of the book and DVD suggests Tabloid Smut - however, nothing could be further from the truth. Unfortunately I'm practically running out the door at this point, so for the sake of time, I'm simply going to copy and paste something I wrote up and posted elsewhere, after viewing the DVD that pretty much sums everything up.

Also, for the new year, I truly hope that *before* people speak their opinions, they know of *what* they speak, and judge AFTER, and not before seeing, or reading something.

SO here are my thoughts and summation of the Paternity Suit book/DVD.

I think most fans remember when this paternity issue hit the newstands, and we know the outcome.

However, I doubt many fans realize that this incident took up over 6 years of Elvis' life and covers so much more than the paternity suit itself...ie: his relationship with O'Grady and O'Grady's connection to so many other facets of Elvis personal and private life. Added to this DVD, as Bud always does, all the documentation and photos involved with all that was going on thruout the years at this point in time.....believe me - it connects many dots~!

For me- the DVD brought back many memories I'd frankly forgotten and reminded me once again of Elvis' basic sincerity, belief in himself and the people around him.

It brought back many of my personal feelings at the time this was all going on...to name a few...she (Patricia Parker) was not "Elvis type" and the statement she made on how she connected to Elvis at the time was just so !NOT! Elvis on so many levels I can't even count! You walk the road he walked thru this long process...and the empathy, not to mention your knowledge, of Elvis builds, believe me.

To that add that I am a sucker for anything that's documented with old photos and legal documents - even if they are photos of the offices, and buildings involved (ah yes, and of course many, many ELvis photos) - it completes the picture.

It's yet another piece of the puzzle of Elvis Presley...the Elvis that could have, but refused to, settle out of court, which was so common then and now, guilty or not. That's my boy- fight for what is right!

Am I prejudice because it's a Bud Glass production? Maybe! But I honestly think that I would have applauded this book and DVD no matter who put it out because of the content. The subject matter may not thrill you but like I said = it comprised many years of Elvis' life and although it sounds like it may be a negative thing- you will walk away with a new appreciation of Elvis the person!-

BTW- I viewed it with company; none of whom are Elvis fans who made me turn the volume up and who sat rivited to the darn screen (had to rewind a few times just so they could look again) and their comments at the end ? I had no idea that 1) dang that man is good looking 2) never knew he spent that much time with his fans 3) that he had the grace he did under the accusations 4) and they were cheering him on when he was talking about the incident on stage --- I won't tell you what they were calling Patricia Parker. But, by george...I think Elvis has a few new fans! Also, I think their nicest acknowledgement was to Bud....that although they thought they were going to see Tabloid Smut...they came out with a new respect of Elvis Presley and were amazed at the investigative work that went into the project.

I can't even begin to tell you the amount of time Bud spent researching (years!!~!!!!!) this part of Elvis' life - it's not sensationalism, it's what was going on and at no time is there even a hint of disrespect in what is said, or shown.

Ya know what? I'm very proud of Bud! And I'm even prouder of Elvis! Ok Elvis - ya had some funny lines in there.....but I won't get into that!

So that's basically it...it was very well done and I would not hesitate to recommend it anyone. If after viewing the DVD and reading the book, anyone still thinks it's a detriment to Elvis' name, then by all means share that opinion....but not without first seeing it first.

Very well put Sandi! I just finished reading my copy of the book, couldn't put it down until I read the whole thing, and the only thing I can add to what you have already said is this project is EXCELLENT !! Barvo Bud! Again he did an excellent job giving us fans the facts.

Bud has always been and still is first and foremost a avid Elvis fan and in no way would ever do anything to tarnish Elvis or his memory. I have high respect for Bud and support him in any project he does regarding Elvis because I know how he is where Elvis is concerned. He puts out first class projects, never would he ever think about putting out trash or disrespect Elvis in any way, it is just not in his make up... I thank Bud for sharing with us his long and hard research.

Yes, we all knew about this paternity suit but none of us really knew all the facts concerning this case, or what was going on in Elvis life during the years that this suit took place. Bud has given the facts along with court docs (that I found very interesting), things that I never knew. I learned a lot, and surely have even more respect for Elvis.

I also recommend this book to everyone.. Now Im off to go view the DVD that comes with the book.

This project is not about sensationalism or about dragging Elvis and his name through the mud all over again.

nur mal ne kurze zusammenfassung von leuten die es gesehen haben und deren erste gedanken.

und ich denke damit dürfte wohl klar sein warum wir ein buch über dessen topic gemacht haben.
und wer insere investigative rangehensweise an ein thema kennt der dürfte schon ahnen das wir hier nicht ein paar court dokumente abgedruckt haben....

ich freue mich immer wenn leute einfach spass haben und die sachen informativ finden

auch wenn ich denke die postings verraten schon zuviel.... :zeitung:

am liebsten wäre mir wenn die leute unvoreingenommen das betrachten mit einem schlechten vorgefühl.....und dann denken meine fresse.....

und der gag ist dann hat das abenteuer erst begonnen aber dazu demnächst mehr.....

übrigens freuen sich überall auf der welt wenn die macher dort sind und interessante fragen beantworten....

das ist nicht nur ne randnotiz in elvis leben ansonsten hätten wir uns garantiert nicht dem thema in der form gewidmet.

ein paar unreleased pics und ein paar secret court documents hätten wir sicher sehr nett in einem unserer vergangenen oder zukünftigen produkte unterbringen können.

mach doch ein Projekt über die berühmte Stalin Wolke, die Elvis einst mit Geller in der Wüste sah
