Und hier was ganz, ganz Rares. Brian Wilson, Bruce Johnston, Jeffrey Foskett und John Stamos 1990 nach einer Hochzeitsfeier um ein Piano rum, um zu jammen. Zum ersten Mal höre ich hier Brian Wilson einen Presley-Song covern (17:30 Min)

Die Bildqualität lässt einen beinahe erblinden, aber zu sehen, wie Brian total auf His latest flame abfährt, ist irgendwie cool.

Was hast du denn erwartet ?




Hier eine Sendung aus den ganz frühen 90s, anscheinend nach Brian Wilon's Song "The spirit of Rock'n'Roll" benannt, in dem verschiedene Stars über die Helden des Rock'n'Roll reden. Inklusive eines WilsonSoloauftrittes, mitten in der Landy-Ära. Er singt California Girls, God Only Knows, Surfer Girl (solo am Piano) und Spirit Of Rock & Roll (auf der damaligen Studioversion ist Bob Dylan als Gast zu hören)

In letzter Zeit kommen viele "neue" Beach Boys-Videos auf youtube hoch. Ma schaun, was die nächste Zeit noch so bringt




Ich weiß nicht, ob das hier im Forum schonmal gepostet wurde. Für den Film Curious George 2 Folllow That Monkey hat Brian Wilson eine Version von "California sun" zum Soundtrack beigesteuert. Hier zu hören:

Das gehört hier natürlich auch rein, obwohl die Beach Boys hier eher ne Nebenrolle spielen. Es geht um eine Aufführung des ersten USA-Auftrittes der Beatles in der damals mit einem Beach Boys- und einem Lesley Gore-Konzert verbundenen Closed Circuit-Fassung:

Der Beach Boys-Auftritt wurde schonmal auf DVD als "The lost concert" veröffentlicht, allerdings musste man aus rechtlichen Gründen auf "Monster mash" verzichten, der jetzt aber wieder dabei sein wird.

U.U. gibt es einen ersten Hinweis auf eine tatsächliche Smile-Veröffentlichung.



CAPITOL/EMI TO RELEASE LIMITED EDITION VINYL FOR THE BEACH BOYS

In support of Record Store Day, Capitol/EMI announced today that it is set to release The Beach Boys “Good Vibrations” 78RPM Double Vinyl Single Set to be sold exclusively by participating independent music retailers across the U.S. on Saturday, April 16.

The Beach Boys’ “Good Vibrations”/”Heroes and Villains” will be released as a limited edition double 78RPM vinyl single set with the songs’ original single release mixes on one disc and alternate versions of both songs on the other disc.

Al Jardine recently told an interviewer that Capitol was planning to release a SMiLE-based sessions box set this summer, and then told another interviewer, "I don't know if we have enough parts to put it together or not." Is Jardine covering his tracks? Probably. Hard to tell, because Capitol isn't telling anyone. Brian Wilson, who completed his version of the mythical masterpiece in 2004 as Brian Wilson Presents SMiLE, is focused on finishing up his second Disney album, but rumor has it that something is indeed "in the works."

What better way to stir the pot than to release this ultra-cool collectible vinyl featuring two SMiLE era cornerstones? The lucky SMiLE-hungry fans who line up on Record Store Day are in for a real treat!

Ich fände es klasse! Endlich mal Lieder wie Barnyard oder Child is father of the man nicht von mies klingenden Bootlegs. Wenn das stimmen sollte, freue ich mich wie ein Schneekönig! :up:

Am kommenden Samstag gibts um 20 Uhr ein Beach Boys-special auf CoolRadio 1, welches über Internet zu empfangen ist. Da im Beach Boys-Forum nach den Top Ten verschiedener Mitglieder gefragt wurde, könnte es vielleicht auch ein paar "Raritäten" geben

Something new and fresh for the Beach Boys 50th

In this exclusive interview with Mike Love, he discusses the possibilities that lie ahead for The Beach Boys in 2011 and beyond.

Q: Can fans anticipate Al Jardine, Brian Wilson and David Marks joining you and Bruce on a more frequent basis in 2011?

Mike Love: I’m not sure, but I’m open to anything and everything. I’ll just leave it at that because there are no immanent plans, but there’s a lot of discussion about what we should be doing involving and having to do with the 50th anniversary of The Beach Boys.… There are a lot of different possibilities and some of those discussions are beginning to take place, and have been for a little while. There are a lot of places in the world where it would be fun to go and celebrate the 50th anniversary. I’m open to a lot of things in light of the remarkable milestone.

Q: Do you prefer a tour or recording a new Beach Boys studio album first…and then going on tour?

ML: I would like to get together with Brian and write some songs together. I have had a few songs rattling around in my brain for a while, and I’m sure he does as well. We’ve always complemented each other incredibly well when we’ve been able to do that. It’s been quite a while since we worked together, but I think his nature and mine are pretty much determined by now and I know there’s a complimentarity [sic] there. I think there’s every possibility that we can get together and do some pretty cool things. There’s the historical part of The Beach Boys’ music, it’s pretty incredible, pretty vast and pretty varied too. … There’s a multitude of things that can be done, but I think I it would be really cool to come up with something new, fresh and in the moment in addition to reprising all the great songs that we’re known for.
